Breaking Barriers, A Night with Sonia Manzano
A Night with Sonia will be a lecture where Sonia Manzano will discuss what it was like to be one of the only Latinas in media and broadcasting in the 70’s and how representation has change during her years in the industry. She will talk about challenges that she had to face in order to achieve her level of success and the importance of having representation in a show like Sesame Street. Sonia Manzano is a thirteen time Emmy winner and has received an award from the National Hispanic Caucus and has also written many books including her memoir where she talks about her life obstacles and how she overcame them.
